To make your visit to The George and Dragon as stress free as possible in these uncertain times, here are the latest guidelines that must be followed when dining with us:
- All customers must now order a substantial meal, we can only serve alcohol as part of your meal. No lingering once your meal is
finished.
- All groups (6 or less) must be from the same household, you must not socialise with anyone
you do not live with or who is not in your support bubble in any indoor setting
- We will ask you to track and trace
- You must sanitise your hands at the entrance
- We operate table service only
- You must wear a face mask entering the premises, only when seated you can remove it. If you leave
your seat your face mask needs to be on.
Please remember that we didn’t make the rules so please observe them. We ask that you don’t give our staff a hard time about it. Things are difficult enough!
Cleaning
We want to reassure you that there’s regular cleaning going on in the pub; all our crew will be washing their hands every twenty minutes and sanitising ‘touch points’ hour. The tables and chairs will
be cleaned after each customer. At every step, we’ll be following the highest of cleaning standards throughout the pub and in the kitchen.
Service at table
We’ll do our utmost to keep a safe distance where possible when taking orders and serving your table.
You’ll notice some changes to the way we’re laying the tables. To reduce the ‘contact’ with cutlery, we’re placing the knives, forks, and napkins on table after you've ordered your meal. The same
goes for the salt and peppers, everything will be in sachets.
Space between tables
We wanted to reassure you that care and consideration has gone into spacing the distance between the tables and positioning of the chairs.
Menus
Menus will only be used once and recycled afterwards.
Bar service
Much as life usually revolves around the bar, please resist the temptation to pop to it, we’ll look after you at the table.
Cashless and Tips
To reduce the handling of cash, we’ve gone ‘cashless’. We kindly ask you to use contactless wherever possible. If you would like to leave a tip, there’s now an option to do so when you’re paying your
bill.
Reopening COVID – 19 Policy, Guidelines and House Rules
We are following the government guidelines to ensure everyone is safe, reviewing on a regular basics with any guideline changes
will be adhered to.
With everything in consideration, safety of all staff and customers have been
considered.
Following Public Health guidelines, we have put in deep cleaning precautions in place. We stress that all customers follow guidelines to ensure protection of everyone.
If your feeling unwell we kindly ask you postpone your visit, if you have a table booked please let us know and we can
arrange to see you again in the future.
Everyone will be greeted with warm welcome but reframe from close contact or handshaking.
Everything will now be done from an order point at the bar. Anyone sitting indoors will receive full table service.
- All contactable surfaces, tables, chairs, toilet's and door handles will be sanitised and disinfected on a regular bases to help reduce any risks.
- All members of staff will be washing their hands on a regular 20minute basics and wearing PPE.
- We will ensure that staff are fit to work are will take the appropriate action within the government
guidelines.
It’s a very stressful and difficult time for everyone with situation's changing for us all on a
daily basics.
We are providing a takeaway menu if don’t wish to dine in our pub at this time.
Takeaway's are now collection only.
With all of this in consideration please enjoy your visit and please wash your hands on a regular basic. Keep your distance from
others and following all signage and instructions that have been put in place for a safe re-opening of our pub.
